First of all, I'm sorry to hear that you went through that. I have heard of that happening but they are a few people that it has happened too, relatively speaking. I've done 58 offers and have NEVER had any issues with it and if you really follow what I say to do in the video tutorials at CaliStyle101, you pretty much eliminate the chances of that ever happening.

Here are the steps that I recommend for EVERY offer that you complete:
1. Check out what it says on the main page and make sure you are comfortable with it.
2. Check out the terms of services and make sure you are comfortable with it.
3. Check out what people has to say about the offers in the Offers Discussion subforum at CaliStyle101.com. If there's nothing there, ask people about their experiences with that particular offer.

After doing those 3 things (which I think is essential), you can move forward with certainty that the offer is legitimate. That's on of the pluses about using a community like CaliStyle101.com in your Freebie Trading efforts.

Whatever you do online, there will be a few scammers out there trying to mess stuff up, so you NEED to educate yourself on what to do before doing anything.

Leslie I didn't know where else to put this question but what do you think about offers that scam us the people who are trying their services, offers that when you cancel the trials they still bill your credit card or that their costumer service phone is an answering machine. I once sign up for an offer that was 1.95 and 14 day trial I cancel the trial before the 14th day two months later they bill me over $300 for their program I called them and they say it was an error and they will refund but by check when I receive their check I deposited on my account and few days later the bank send the check back to me along with a letter because the check was fake, I then open a dispute in my bank and I was able to get my money back and I found out this company was closed.
There are a lot of fraudulent offer in these freebies sites and we as consumers should be protected too of fraudulent offers.

in my opinion,freebies is about the easiest money you can make but unfortunately for us in Europe just doesn't work or you have some suggestion how we can do it-if so I will be on a board!

Yes I also am amazed that there is money to be made in the freebie industry but it does require hard honest work, patience, knowledge and skill. What amazes me more is the people who want to channel their negative energy into scamming the industry. If they would just turn that energy around into something positive and put the same effort that they use to attempt to scam then perhaps, just perhaps they would see their efforts payoff!!

In every business, there are people who would rather take a chance of wasting their time, energy, and money, in hopes that doing the wrong thing will pay off. Like cashiers who steal $20 out of the company cash register. They know that they risk losing a job making $20,000 a year, but they just have to try. And, there are those who get away with it, at least for awhile.

The freebie biz, in my opinion, is about the easiest money you can make. Put in a little time, get paid really well. Yet, some people want to try to do it the wrong way, just to try, even though they know that they could get banned from the sites and lose the opportunity to make this easy money. To some it's worth the risk.

In my business, I have had customers who shopped my store and tried to steal and got caught. What did they profit? I told them they couldn't come back to my store. Still, they thought it was worth it. Do you know the most common things people steal in my store? Items under $30. They risk being prosecuted, banned from my store and humiliated for a $12 pair of sunglasses. Why? They just want to try it. It's a "Nothing To Lose" mentality, and while they don't want to get caught, they aren't so afraid of the consequences for their actions that they will do the right thing. The fact that they could spend an hour doing the freebie sites the honest way and make the same money they will make spending an hour scamming someone doesn't matter to them. They want to try it the wrong way, just in case it pays off.

We all must be on our guard against these scammers, cheaters, liars, fraudsters, because when they take advantage of us, they harm the freebie industry as a whole, too. I hope things are going great and youre having a great time in the Bahamas. I have had great gut feelings about a few traders as well since my year at FLR. It seems you just get this gut feeling and low and behold, there they are a few days later in lunch left. Well, my past week ago, I had a 3 day sticky, I had 3 differnt PM's with different names that said exactly the same thing identical to the scammer M.O.. It is amazing to me that they are not any smarter than that. Also, you can see where they have not only responded to your thread, but to others within seconds. Someone that is new, its gona take them just a few minutes longer to get back to that spot to respond to someone else. There are just so many ways to tell, but sometimes, there is that original scammer that gets ya. I am lucky and have not had that to happen. But others have and its heartbreaking actually, because you know they have spnt their time and effort in trying to be a good mentor for someone like this to come along and swipe your money. I was taught to always go with yoru gut feeling on something and so far, it has been a good thing and I have not been scammed. Hi, Leslie! I blog from Japan. I'd like to make a suggestion.

This is not very related to the post itself, but when I read about google searches, it reminded me that I have googled a few times looking for coupons. (Like GoDaddy, HostGator etc.)

Perhaps if you gathered a few discount coupons from certain places, and right to them you placed your affiliate link, you could be creating a new income stream.

I know, not a "freebie", but it's just an idea ;-)

This is not very related to the post itself, but when I read about google searches, it reminded me that I have googled a few times looking for coupons. (Like GoDaddy, HostGator etc.)

Perhaps if you gathered a few discount coupons from certain places, and right to them you placed your affiliate link, you could be creating a new income stream.

Thank you for addressing this issue honestly and straight forward. Cheating will not only hurt the trader but the entire industry. And I also agree with Nicole...a lot of these "cheating" people may just be misinformed and ill-trained. That is why your blog rocks...it stresses all the aspects of training and tips and tricks that can really enable traders to stream-line their training and help them keep integrity in the freebie trading industry.

The freebie world is a wonderful place to meet great people, make some money and gives each of us the opportunity to make even more money depending on the road we choose to take. The sad truth is that no matter how hard the sites try and keep all of the legitimate traders safer and their businesses safer, there are those who would rather spend their time finding out how to cheat the industry rather than become an honest and productive part of the industry. The cheaters will find a way, they always do, no matter what they are trying to cheat. As traders, we need to constantly keep an eye out on the new ways these creeps come up with so that we all can do whatever we can to stop them.

I've never really understood why someone would want to cheat. first of all, I'm sure that at least 90% of them are caught by the site if they try to do an offer more than once, or if they try to open a 2nd account on the same freebie site. and secondly, there really isn't any need to because it's pretty easy to make money legitamately.
