Hey, Onna, excellent post. Twitter is excellent for referral conversions.

I'd also like to point out a feature on Twitter which makes it easier to isolate a very targeted audience to convert in referrals - Twitter Search. If had an account with a freebie site offering a free macbook pro, you can simply log on to twitter and search, "I want a New Macbook"! Instantly, you'll be taken to a list of thousands of people actively tweeting their interest in getting a new macbook.

You can then retweet their tweets and or reply to them and link them back to your blog or website where they can be converted into referrals. What makes this powerful is that you don't need 1,000s of followers to do this. You don't even need 300 followers. Twitter search will pull out a list of people actively expressing interest in what you're offering. You can simply engage in conversation and offer a link to a relevant blog or article.

I've personally gotten well over 6 referrals (Greens) this week alone utilizing this method.

Onna,
You have done a great post to help others get signed up and going on Twitter.

I was skeptical about joining Twitter, I never thought that you could really get anything accomplished in 140 characters. Boy, was I wrong.

I will see you on Twitter!
