Is there a specific site that you’d recommend for this type of prize? There’s lots of “free laptop” sites, but I’d really appreciate the input of a pro about which one to try.

Yes it is possible to get an actual prize. I’ve gotten a 40 inch Flatscreen and an Ipod touch. However, you would have to use a credit or debit card. You can’t use a prepaid card because it’s against the terms of service of all freebie sites.

I’m someone interested in getting a specific, actual prize from these kinds of offers – a laptop. I don’t care about making money long term, I just need a laptop, and I don’t have the money to buy one right now. Is this something that I could do with these freebee sites? Could I use a prepaid credit card for this one-time thing? I really don’t want my real card information going out into these sites.

I have no idea that you have to pay the listing fee on ebay. Thanks for sharing! This third method is a hassle like what Leslie said. But I guess if you win an item, it would be better to sell it to your neighbor or post it on forums and ask the buyer on where to meet.hehe

I agree with you on this point. You are guaranteed a certain amount of cash through the site. However if you were to receive the item and list it on ebay, like you said, you have to pay the listing fee. And there is no guarantee that you will get the same amount of money that you would have from the site. After all ebay is an auction site known for its lower selling prices.
